NCER continues to offer its presence at E-Scrap through its affiliation as manager of the Electronics Recycling Coordination Clearinghouse (ERCC). NCER and partner organization NERC will offer both an ERCC Workshop and Member Meeting this year during E-Scrap. Both will be held the Tuesday before E-Scrap is set to begin – September 20th.

The workshop topic is currently being developed but will typically engage a variety of industry players in a discussion about issues that impact a wide variety of stakeholders in the e-cycling arena. As our topic develops and a schedule for the day is formulated, we will post more details here and on the E-Scrap Workshops page.

A discussion of the efforts to expand the availability of the R2 Standard internationally, including what has been done to date and options for the future. Attendees will also offer suggestions and feedback on international issues to consider in the next version of the R2 Standards, with specific focus on India, Asia, and Latin America.

EPA's Office of Research and Development: Tracking Flows of Used Electronics - Proof of Concept Model

The purpose of this workshop is to present, discuss and obtain feedback on a proof-of-concept used electronics flow model that has been developed by the US EPA's Office of Research and Development. The first part of the workshop will include a 10-15 minute demonstration of the model. The demonstration will include a discussion of the data source used and limitations of those sources. Following the demonstration, participants will be given the opportunity to provide feedback on the model and suggestions for improvement.

Our sessions feature panel discussions with e-scrap executives as well as presentations from top researchers, facility managers and government officials.

Are you just entering the electronics recycling industry or looking to brush up on some basics of the business? The E-Scrap Academy is designed with your needs in mind. Existing as a separate track in the conference session schedule, the Academy gives attendees the tangible tools and market knowledge they need to complete their day-to-day jobs more effectively or decide how to make their entrepreneurial dreams a reality. Academy goers will pick up valuable skills in processing, refurbishment, downstream due diligence, safety, contracting and more.
