Eastern Analytical Symposium
The Eastern Analytical Symposium and Exposition (EAS) is held each year to provide professional scientists and students continuing education in the analytical and allied sciences through the presentation of symposia of papers, workshops, and short courses. An exposition of apparatus and supplies allied to these sciences is held concurrently with the symposia. EAS 2014 will be held November 17-19, 2014 at the Garden State Exhibit Center and hotel complex in Somerset, New Jersey.

March 1 – Call for Papers opens for Contributed Oral and Poster Abstracts.
April 15 – Deadline for receipt of Contributed Oral and Poster Abstracts.
April 20 – April Retort available on this site.
June 15- Presenters of Invited Presentations are contacted by e-mail with session information.
June 30 – Preliminary Program is posted to this site. This will contain registration, housing, short course, seminar, and employment bureau information and forms.
July 1 – Presenters of Contributed Presentations are contacted by e-mail with session schedules and presentation guidelines.
July 15 – Online registration is open
July 15 – Deadline for receipt of Final Abstracts for Invited Presentations.
September 1 – Deadline to submit nominations for all EAS awards
October 15 – Deadline to register for EAS at a reduced price.
November 1 – Deadline to cancel registration for EAS and still obtain a refund.
November 17-19 – The Eastern Analytical Symposium and Exposition in Somerset, New Jersey
Technical Program
For over 50 years, the Technical Program of EAS has provided cutting-edge information for the analyst with research presentations on practical solutions to problems and discussions of novel technologies. The symposium now typically contains over 500 papers on a wide variety of subjects, from pharmaceutical analysis to art conservation, analytical chemistry education, food analysis, chemometrics, sample preparation, process analysis, forensic analysis, surface analysis, validation, and regulatory topics. The program emphasizes the practical use of a wide swath of technologies (e.g., CE, GC, LC, near-IR, mid-IR, Raman spectroscopy, NMR, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, microscopy, and sensors) in solving real-life problems faced by scientists in their daily work. Short Courses
EAS Short Courses emphasize practical and economical problem solving topics which will include material that you can take home and immediately apply to your daily work. We have kept many of the ‘most requested’ courses from last year, and this year we have added new courses that are timely and useful to the practicing analyst. The courses are taught by a group of distinguished instructors, who are well recognized in their fields.

In addition, EAS provide undergraduate students with travel awards to offset expenses to attend the meeting each year.
Exposition
The 180+ booths at EAS provide the scientist with a convenient single location to find out about new equipment, services, and technologies.
