International Recycling, Environmental Technologies and Waste Management

REW Istanbul 2016, the 12th edition of this successful series of trade events for Turkey’s recycling, environmental and waste treatment sectors, was organized by İFO Fuarcılık with contributions from the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation. During three hectic days of business, REW Istanbul 2016, which was co-located with the Occupational Health & Safety Fair –ISG, hosted 10,865 professional buyers and specifiers coming from 46 countries with international visitors accounting for over 5% of the total. Once again REW Istanbul proved itself as the most important gathering in Eurasia bringing together all stakeholders in the sector. With conferences focused on recovery, waste management and the environment, alongside the many new technologies on display, it was no surprise that it attracted high level professional visitors with decision making responsibilities in municipalities, industrial enterprises, representatives of Organized Industrial Zones and academicians. On display from 240 companies was the very latest technologies and services from 17 different countries. This combined event will take place again at Tüyap Beylikdüzü in Istanbul from 16-19 March 2017.

Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation, Chambers of Commerce and Industry Associations delivered many presentations on important environmental topics.

The Waste Management Division and Water and Soil Management Division affiliated to the General Directorate of Environmental Management of the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation, held an extensive conference program focused on their fields during REW Istanbul 2016. On day one, “waste and solid waste management” regulations were discussed in detail and on day two, the topics of “Waste Transport Centers”, “Packaging Information System”, “Solid Pollution Control and Polluted Areas Information System” and “Waste Water Management in Turkey’’ were also discussed. The Istanbul Branch of Chamber of Environmental Engineers, Sinop University, Gebze Technical University, Bioenergy Association and Tora Çevre Company made a number of highly informative presentations at the REW İstanbul 2016 Conference.
