Locator Competency (NULCA Accredited)

This course is designed to provide the fundamental knowledge AND skills to professionals conducting subsurface utility locates for the damage prevention and 811 industries. Students will receive both video lectures and hands on practical training sessions on their way to certification from the National Utility Locate Contractors Assocation. Topics covered in this course include: visual site inspection, conductive methods, inductive methods, passive methods, troubleshooting difficult situations, poor signals, distorted signals, marking best practices, and more. The instruction is delivered through multiple modes of including online lectures (pre-work), live hands-on practical and operational training, and continuing education for up to 1 year.
