Nevada Water Resources Association 2014 Annual Conference
NWRA is a non-profit professional association whose mission is to provide education, training and networking opportunities for those interested in understanding, developing, conserving and protecting Nevada’s water resources. NWRA has been in operation for 69 years. In 1944, Tom Smith, State Engineer at that time, spearheaded a group who focused on groundwater and agricultural issues throughout the State. After many years of serving as a special interest group, the group became the Nevada Reclamation Association and eventually evolved to become Nevada Water Resources Association.
The Water Rights in Nevada Class will be presented by Michael D. Buschelman, P.L.S., W.R.S., and Hugh Ricci, P.E.
The costs of water rights are increasing and the need to understand the Nevada Revised Statutes is paramount to the purchasing and selling of these rights. The “Water Rights in Nevada Seminar” will provide:
- A detailed explanation of NRS (Nevada Revised Statutes) under title 48-Water.
- Knowledge about water rights issues as they relate to the purchasing and selling of real estate in Nevada.
- A review of regulations established for water resource administration in Nevada.
- Information on court cases, which have initiated water law.

State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors will approve PDH’s from an event that an individual has attended as long as it pertains to the license for which they are qualifying.
