Avivid`s Electrocoagulation Technology Cleans Hazardous Landfill Leachate Safely

Landfill leachate forms when rainwater seeps through waste and draws out harmful chemicals and other substances from those wastes.

In January 2020, Avivid used its patented electrocoagulation technology to decontaminate a sample from a site in Georgia recognized as producing some of the worst landfill in its industry.

Although electrocoagulation doesn’t remove dissolved salts, it effectively removes contaminants, including those that can interfere with reverse osmosis (RO) or other desalination systems.

A third-party laboratory verified that the treated sample passed the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) and could safely be returned to the landfill.
