Problem of bad odors in the sewer system
Recently a complex project has been carried out that included the construction of a new bus service station, the modernization of the road system (extension of an existing road), the modernization of the sewage system through the construction of a modern pumping system and finally the rehabilitation of the adjacent park, very frequented by tourists and residents of the vicinity. Since the pumping system was located under the surface of the park, after a while there was a problem of very unpleasant odors that came from 24 ventilation points located just above the green surface of the park. The local authorities of the municipality and the construction company in charge of the project were informed by the residents about the odor problem. The common decision was made to provide a solution to this problem. The main objective was the purchase and installation of an adequate anti-odor system that will minimize the odors of wastewater that were having a serious impact on the daily lives of residents and visitors.

Finally, we proceeded to analyze and measure the odors caused by the wastewater that emanated, in addition to determining the diameter of the ventilation points through which these unpleasant odors were released. Following the conclusions drawn, a comprehensive offer was prepared for the delivery of 24 activated carbon odor filters. The specially selected activated carbon, modified with potassium iodide, guaranteed an effective and lasting operation of the filters offered.
The following activated carbon filters were installed: SUGARPOD-800 PRO (1 unit), SUGARPOD- 600 PRO (11 units), SUGARPOD-160 PRO (11 units) and SUGARPOD-110 PRO (1 unit). Once installed, the odor problem was eliminated. Two years later the situation has not changed yet, and no odor has been observed in the entire park area. Thanks to the fact that a version with a high concentration of activated carbon (PRO versions) was chosen for the installation, an effectiveness of 100% was ensured, guaranteeing an effectiveness for periods of between 3 and 5 years, being only necessary the replacement of the activated carbon content inside the filter to renew the life of the devices.
