Connecticut to Tackle Tyre Dumping

A new bill would require all tyre shops to join a statewide recycling program. But on tyre retailers told lawmakers that they aren’t the problem – and they warned that the requirement could cost customers more. This is the same old argument that retailers are never the problem.  Regardless of where the stewardship membership lies, the consumer will pay. So saying that retailer membership of a scheme would cost the consumer, is a bit of a null argument. Connecticut lawmakers want to clean up the problem, but they’re divided about how to do it.
