Environmental Expert launches interaction features
We`re excited to announce the addition of several new features on the site that are sure to help vault Environmental Expert into the social web - commenting, ratings, sharing & favoriting.
We know the social web has been around for awhile so we"re perfectly aware that these new features are long overdue in that sense. But when we took a look around at other industry B2B sites before greenlighting this project, we were shocked to see how slow pickup on social web features had been in the B2B sector.
It didn"t make sense to us that it was much easier to compare user opinions on where to eat or what movie to watch than it was for industry professionals like yourselves to figure out what environmental solutions would be best for your business. What had the environmental experts, managers & consultants of the world done to deserve such a fate?
So we decided it was time to change that trend and make your lives as environmental professionals easier. Here"s a rundown of the new features:
Commenting
Commenting can be done at the bottom of virtually all content items on the site (products & services, news, articles, events & publications). Quick links to comments are available straight from search result pages as well as from the top of content pages. Your comments are accessible through the "Messages/Interaction" menu of your account.
Ratings
A simple five-star rating system has been implemented on the aforementioned content types. The rating is visible on the content page itself as well as on search results. We"ll let the database populate with ratings for awhile before we consider offering an option to sort results by rating. Your ratings are accessible through the "Messages/Interaction" menu of your account.
Favoriting
Now you can save content to a list of your favorites, accessible through the "Messages/Interaction" menu of your account. A "Favorites" icon at the top of content pages shows what you"ve already added to your favorites.
Sharing
The ShareThis widget has been on the site for several months now but now we"ve added Facebook and Twitter widgets to make it even easier to share with your colleagues.
