IVERNA installs its access systems in Port-au-Prince (Haiti)
IVERNA continues to demonstrate its international vocation and arrives in Port-au-Prince with its products from INCATEMA Consulting & Engineering, a consulting and engineering company, with extensive experience in the realization of «turnkey» projects, specialized in the sectors of the agriculture and rural development.
The work consisted of a reinforcement of the drinking water supply in Port-au-Prince. The project consists of 2 lots: lot 1 captures water from 8 wells and is subsequently pumped to two regulation tanks. Lot 2 collects water from a catchment and pumps it to a regulation tank. The actions have been developed in the district of Mariani, municipality of Carrefour, Metropolitan Region of Port-au-Prince. The final user of the infrastructure is the DINEPA – Direction Nationale de l’Eau Potable et de l’Assannissement (National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation).
The actions carried out will ensure the supply and quality of drinking water to a very depressed area of the capital, with the consequent improvement of hygienic-sanitary conditions for all the inhabitants of the suburb.
IVERNA participated by increasing the security of access to the inspection chambers, supplying 46 Polyvalent Stainless Steel Handhold Entry Pole.
Our stainless handhold is a folding and multipurpose safety device that can be anchored both in ladders of existing manhole step irons and concrete. It helps in the ascent and descent during access to the interior of wells, collectors, harbors, swamps, reservoirs, among others.
This handle is made of polished stainless steel mirror in AISI-316 allows the coupling of a flashlight of 4 LED ATEX anti-spark, allowing the operator access to the well extending the handle and down the ladder safely and illuminated.
When the maintenance is finished, the user can lean on the handle while climbing up and out of the well. Once outside, the operator can fold the handhold and store it inside the well.
The handhold entry pole can be manufactured in 4 different variants:
- Support + non-removable bar for manhole step irons.
- Support + non-removable bar for concrete.
- Support + removable bar for manhole step irons.
- Support + removable bar for concrete.
We want to point out that in the last edition of SMAGUA 2017, one of the most influential trade fairs in the water sector at an international level, IVERNA was awarded with the «Technical Innovation» prize for its innovative handhold entry pole.
These handles were anchored to the already well-known polypropylene step irons. Its steel core, safety side flaps and anti-slip surface make them the best possible ladder for manholes, ensuring a long durability against moisture and corrosive gases.
