New controllable electric agitators type MU
sera’s new electric agitators type MU combine efficient agitator technology with the advantages of modern control electronics.
The electric agitators are adapted to dosing tanks of 100 litres to 1,000 litres tank volumes and can be optionally provided in different configurations. The agitator shaft and the mixing element are available in two different materials. There are also other model options so that the new agitators can be used in a large number of applications. Even in the standard design, the electric mixing units are suitable for flow-through operation.
The highlight of the newly developed product, however, is the control electronics (available upon request). The electronic components are taken from the sera dosing technology kit which consists of numerous dosing technology components. This kit has already proved widely useful in the context of sera’s controllable dosage pumps.
These control electronics allow customers to find solutions to the most diverse mixing tasks. Four different operational modes are provided by the electronics. In manual operation, the electric agitator is switched on and off directly and the motor speed is selected by the operator. For automatic operation, there are modes available for motor speed control, intermittent operation and for setting an overrun time. Thus, the control technology offers many opportunities for excellent mixing quality of the product.
Of great importance in the modern process industry is comprehensive communication between sensors, actuators or electric machines with a central control unit. In this context, the control electronics provide an interface in the form of digital inputs and outputs for signal exchange, in addition to direct analysis of level monitoring in the associated tanks.
Via the inputs, 0/4..20mA control is affected and/or the mixing unit is started. The outputs provide feedback such as collective fault and ready to operate messages, level indications and run signals.
