Oct. 9, 2014

Expert advice on the impact of changes to environmental legislation will be available from Cedrec following the announcement of dates for a new 2015 UK-wide roadshow.

Cedrec will be hitting the road throughout January with a series of events to help organisations understand better changes in environmental legislation, the impact they have on businesses and explain further changes that are expected to come into force during 2015.

A key feature at each event will be a dedicated ‘help and support’ section, which will provide some invaluable and free one-to-one advice from Cedrec’s friendly consultants on registers of legislation, management systems and how to get the most out of Cedrec.

Cedrec specialises in providing public and private sector organisations with help and advice in understanding, interpreting and complying with environmental legislation and guidance, and provides a range of specialist consultancy and subscriptions services.

The roadshow will be led by Cedrec’s auditor and director Gareth Billinghurst, who said: “Following popular demand from those who attended our last roadshow, we will be again targeting organisations across the UK with advice about important changes and highlighting legislation to look-out for in 2015.”

In October alone, some 45 documents were removed from force, with further revocations and new legislation planned for the rest of the year and into 2015 - this will make it harder for businesses to ensure they are complying with the law and that everything is kept up-to-date.

“2014 has been another busy year summarising hundreds of environment documents relating to UK and EU and adding these to our subscription service,” added Gareth Billinghurst.

“Trying to navigate through changes in legislation can be difficult even for those with responsibility for compliance, facilities management and maintaining an environmental management system.

“Our workshops will make sense of legislation that’s constantly being revised and updated and highlight the impact it will have on organisations. It’s important that those responsible understand the risks involved and have the facts to hand.”

The roadshow gets underway in Glasgow on 19 January followed by events in:

·         Aberdeen, January 20

·         Belfast, January 21

·         Cardiff, January 22

·         Bristol, January 23

·         Liverpool, January 26
