PitView Solves Problems with Pit and Lagoon Monitoring
Measure pits and lagoons, generate reports, and view historical trends without the use of manpower.
PitView® reduces the risk of harmful spills or breeches in a manure management system. A PitView system of level sensors and cloud-based software automates the measuring and reporting of waste levels. Users can view level information on a phone, tablet, or PC.
Each waste site and sensor location can be uniquely named in the software. Users can easily program measurement frequency, time intervals, and alert conditions. If an alarm is triggered, designated staff automatically receive a text or email allowing them to intervene before a breach occurs.
On-demand reports can be generated for specified date ranges to view trends, prepare regulatory paperwork, and comply with local regulations. Real-time waste measurements enable concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) to proactively optimize fleet requirements and schedule application sites.
PitView`s Partner: Compact Non-Contact Radar Sensors
The PitView solution relies on a weather-tight non-contact radar level sensor to measure livestock waste pits and lagoons at distances up to 26 feet. It works reliably in turbulence, foam, or temperature extremes. The radar`s flood-proof IP66/68 enclosure ensures maintenance-free, continuous operation.
When mounting over lagoons, posts are mounted on either side of the reservoir with the sensor mounted on a bracket attached to taut wires. Another mounting option is to suspend the sensor on a boom arm attached to a post. The sensor is wired to a power supply, or a solar panel can power the sensor.
In pits, a mounting bracket secures the sensor to the pit wall using screws. The sensor installs through a 1 1/2" opening in the bracket and is aimed at a 90° angle toward the waste in the pit.
Waste Management Stinks. PitView Software Can Help!
Once PitView is installed, workers don`t have to go down to the pits or out to the lagoon to take measurements. With sensors and software, levels are monitored continuously, and text or email alerts are sent to ensure staff—even if off-site—can take action before breeches occur.
PitView lets ag operators and CAFOs plan application sites and schedule trucks in advance. By knowing exactly how much waste is in the pit or lagoon, they can arrange for the necessary equipment and labor to get the job done efficiently.
PitView can also be integrated with BinMaster’s FeedView® software to monitor the levels in animal feed bins, plus pits and lagoons, in one easy-to-use interface.
