Using the PeCOD analyser for COD in academic research
Lambton College in Ontario, Canada, established its Water Centre in 2013 in response to the growing interest in the improvement, development and commercialization of water and wastewater treatment technologies.
The Water Centre has purchased a PeCOD chemical oxygen demand analyser for use as a research tool for sensor and process development.
The Water Centre is based on a five year College and Community Innovation Program – Innovaction Enhancement Grant from the Natural Sciences Engineering Research Countil of Canada (NSERC).
It’s main goals are the implementation of automation, instrumentation, optimization and modelling of new water technology systems, such as the PeCOD, which will improve performance efficiency.
The students using the PeCOD for research have found it great for producing accurate results quickly, and have found it very easy to use.
One specific interest at the college is the unique sensor technology the PeCOD unit uses to achieve COD analysis without any harmful or hazardous chemicals or mercury.
