70 Years of Australian Design and Manufacturing 1952

Our company starts as Stockbrands, founded by industrial chemist Terry Forehan and his son, John, who creates the first plastic, one-piece, self-piercing ear tag in the world.

1968

We make our first cast bronze tapping band.

1984

We develop our first engineered plastic tapping band for gas.

1986

We expand our market offering with engineered plastic tapping bands for water.

1987

John befriends plastics specialist Arthur Place, expanding the company’s polymer expertise to replace alloy casting methods.

4N is born.

1995

ISO 9001 certification is gained.

1998

Recevied first WSAA appraisal certification.

2001

Our first gas riser enters production.

2011

Gained Watermark and Product Conformity certifications, along with updated WSAA certification to newer industry standards. Our first water riser is manufactured.

2013

We design and register our first valve box.

2016

We create and register the original Wombat product line.

2022

We design and register the first Bilby RPM.

2024

4N joins Deepdale Group, sharing a goal with other purpose driven businesses to improve outcomes for people and the world.
