Activated Carbon systems should have s backwashing process after a certain operation time. During this process, the system switches to backwashing automatically. During backwashing the water flows with a high flow rate at the opposite flow direction of the normal operation and washes the filter mineral and changes the surfaces of the minerals contacting with the water, and thus improves their absorption capability of the minerals. The system automatically starts backwashing operation at a predefined and scheduled time without any human intervention.
