Exploits the hydraulic resources of valleys using modular installations with Kaplan turbines. These installations are based on the construction of a series of micro-dams along the valley, instead of using one large dam, and so minimise the civil works involved.

The modular installation can hold one or more Kaplan turbines of 250 kW, which each require a flow rate of just 10 m3/s and a 4 metres jump.

The pressure head required for optimum operation of these hydraulic pumps can be achieved with a small dam with a metal sluice gate operated by hydraulic systems.

- Consecutive micro-dams instead of large dams. Reduced medioambiental impact.
- A single model of turbine (semi-Kaplan or Kaplan, 250 kW each, in a self-priming siphon configuration)
- Minimum civil works
- Non-floodable above-water generators
- Machinery installation structures with a catwalk, for improved access between opposite banks
- The water only rises to the overflow level
- Improves water infiltration into the subsoil
- Improves fish fauna
- It represents a watershed microregulation
