Batchflow SBR technology is operated in several consecutive phases: all in one reactor
- The Fill Phase: Wastewater is introduced into the reactor.
- React Phase: Reactor is aerated which result in growth of microorganisms which degrades organic pollutants. These processes are vital for biological treatment, as nitrification and denitrification processes take place during this phase.
- Settling Phase: Aeration and mixing are paused, and the biomass (activated sludge) settles, separating the treated water from solids.
- Decanting Phase: The clarified effluent is decanted from the top of the reactor, while the sedimented sludge is left at the bottom.
