Quasi Vivo - Advanced Interconnected Cell Culture Flow System
Quasi Vivo® is an advanced interconnected cell culture flow system, specifically designed to provide a solution to the major problems academic and industry researchers encounter when using conventional in vitro systems and in vivo research.
Significantly Improved Human Relevance
By introducing flow to the in vitro environment, Quasi Vivo® significantly increases the physiological relevance of your research, enabling you to generate more accurate models, greatly improving confidence in the validity of your results.
Significant benefits include:
- Improved cell viability
- Close control of multiple variables
- Flexible and easy to use
- Time and cost savings
- Long term culture
FLEXIBILITY
Using a Lego-like building block system allows you to have great flexibility when designing your experiment.
Chambers are connected by a dynamic flow of media, transported through the system in tubing attached to chambers.
Quasi Vivo® chambers can be linked in series, allowing for the setup of extensive co-culture models.
EASE OF USE
When it came to designing the Quasi Vivo® system, as well as delivering significant scientific benefits we’ve also ensured the system is very user friendly.
That’s why we’ve used luer locks to connect chambers to tubing, ensuring all seals are secure and liquid tight, whilst also being very easy to use.
New users can expect to be fully operational with as little as 4 hours training.
OXYGEN CONCENTRATIONS
The Quasi Vivo® systems were designed to provide metabolically active cells with ideal oxygen concentrations.
Furthermore oxygen gradients within the chamber can be predicted using computer modelling software and adapted by using inserts to alter the depth of the chambers.
FLOW RATE & SHEAR STRESS
The flow rate of the media is easily adapted by changing the settings on your peristaltic pump to ensure that the media perfuses cells at the correct level.
The chamber geometry ensures low levels of shear stress are applied to cells within the chamber (similar to that of hepatocyte shear stress), whilst using relatively high flow rates as delivered by the pump.
Again your desired level of shear stress can be predicted using computer modelling software and adapted by using inserts to alter the depth of the chambers.
MEDIA COMPOSITION
The recirculating media reduces the need for frequent media changes by allowing the cells themselves to condition their own environment and maintain this for over several days.
This leads to reduced perturbation of the system, giving you your weekends back!
AND THERE’S MORE…
In addition to all of these benefits, Quasi Vivo also provides you with ultimate ease of use and flexibility:
- Optimum scale for useful outputs
- Compatible with most scaffolds and gels
- Compatible with most standard inserts and transwells
- Fits in standard incubator
- Powered by standard peristaltic pump
- Works with any cell type
