The Advanced Processing Platform Isolator (APPI) is used as a barrier to provide a biologically free environment for aseptic processes and other related activities requiring a sterile environment. It eliminates the need to use a high degree of Personal Protective Equipment within a cleanroom facility.

- Air is drawn from the pre-filter located at the ceiling of the isolator. The pre-filter traps large size particles.
- Air from the top inlet is pulled by the supply blower, which creates positive pressure on the work zone that creates downflow.
- The downflow filter creates a full unidirectional airflow and particle-free ISO Class 5 environment inside the isolator to protect the work material inside the main chamber.
- Air from the work zone is quickly purged by the exhaust blowers to keep the area clean.
