Bosch - Model BOSD-TECH150 - Advanced Radar Based Wall Scanner
The future of detection technology – Precision of the highest order the Bosch Wallscanner The precise detection of, for example, plastic pipes in floor and wall heating systems, power cables in walls or ceilings, rebar in concrete, and wooden studs in drywalls is absolutely essential in many types of work performed by professional tradesmen. If reliable precautionary measures are not taken, it won't be long before a water pipe is drilled into or a power cable is damaged – and repairing the damage will be expensive and time-consuming.
The Bosch D-tect 150 Professional solves this well-known problem for tradesmen. For example, it scans ceilings or walls made of concrete up to a depth of 15 centimeters. To do this, the instrument uses an ultra wideband radar sensor system and three other sensors, which react to metals, electrical voltage, wood and also plastic. When a detection mode is selected, the instrument sets the operating method of the four sensors to suit the specific application. There is a universal mode for conventional walls and masonry, and a mode for each of the following: concrete, floor or wall heating pipes, drywalls and hollow block walls.
The D-tect 150 Professional is nevertheless incredibly easy to operate. The intuitive, language-based menu interface on the large, illuminated display quickly guides the professional tradesman to the exact measuring result. There is a choice of seven languages. The selected mode is clearly visible on the display. Once an object has been found, the display provides information about its material properties, the maximum permitted drilling depth at the relevant position, the millimeter-accurate position of the object, and the size of objects with a large surface. In addition to this, an LED lights up red and a signal sounds when the instrument is located exactly over the object. When live cables are found, the LED flashes red and a special warning signal sounds.
The permitted depth that can be drilled to without damaging the object is displayed digitally in centimeters. When doing so, the instrument can store the data of up to 64 objects. A digital tape measure can be shown on the display in all detection modes, which is useful if the user wants to know the distance between two located objects or he has to drill holes at defined distances from each other.
The D-tect 150 Professional is instantly ready for use once it has been switched on, and it does not need to be calibrated. The instrument is very robust and also dust and splash-protected to IP54. It remains fully functional in drop tests from a height of one meter.
