Air SentryAir Purification System

SHARE

HEPA filter Air Purifier for healthcare and any high-risk pathogen areas as part of an infection control programme. Air Sentry has been developing air purification systems for NHS hospitals and private facilities since 2000, with over two decades working to protect patients and staff. healthcare. The Air Sentry Air Purifier contains a HEPA air filter that creates Ultra Clean, near sterile air. For ultimate flexibility, the Air Sentry air purifier comes in two variations: the Air Sentry Mobile unit and the Air Sentry Wall unit.

It is more accurate to describe these units as an air management system that uses Ultra clean recirculation as a core module.

The system uses a powerful HEPA14 filter with activated carbon, to combat airborne infection. This makes it effective against all known airborne pathogens (including coronavirus), air pollution and also chemical exposure, including biological hazards such as toxic and weaponised gases.

HEPA 14 vs ULPA 15 CERTIFICATION
The filter material and design philosophy we use is based on the ULPA 15 standard, yet we certify at HEPA 14. Why?

ULPA 15 testing comes at a very high unit cost and this would need to be passed-on to customers. For this reason we routinely downgrade our certification to HEPA 14 to reduce cost, given it is the most commonly specified standard customers require.

We can offer the same filter graded to ULPA 15 and can quote the additional cost on request.

The system, shown here in an isolated room, generates a slow moving, whole room air current. This flow is core to the design of our air cleaners and helps prevent larger particles from settling on surfaces, reducing touch transmission of diseases.

This slow-moving flow ‘pulls’ air down across the entire room, including corner areas, which can be a problem for existing HVAC systems, especially where ventilation systems have inlets and out-lets which are solely ceiling mounted.

This ‘whole room’ approach means a very high grade of air mixing occurs during the process, creating exceptional dilution.

Air quality of an ISO level 7 clean room is normally achieved.

The core module is a duct capable fixed wall system using our unique HEPA 14 / Defence Grade Active Carbon plus pre filters.

The Air Sentry system can operate as a standalone recirculation system or be connected with external flows for negative, positive pressure and temperature, humidity management.

Filtration is to 0.007µm and each filter is individually certifi-cated at 0.3µm to EN14644 part 3. Our normal arrestance is 99.9999% at 0.3µm.

For air change calculations, a standard unit flows at 1400m3 per hour, however we can increase this significantly with our fixed system due to the modular design.

The modular approach to system design means different ‘building blocks’ can be incorporated to tailor the system to different client specifications. This image shows a positive pressure unit added to a mobile unit.

It is also possible to configure units with for example two fans and two filters. Please remember that our design means we are producing near sterile air, above the standard of medical grade clean air. At 0.3µm the particle count of our exiting air is less than 0.0001%; there are no viruses, no bacteria, and no spores in this air.

HVAC dilution often relies on G4 filtered air which makes the efficiency of our dilution approach significantly better. For competitor products to achieve an equivalent level of dilution would require around 80 actual air changes an hour.

Rooms using our system normally meet the clean room standard ISO level 7. In some areas we have seen particulate counts equivalent to ISO level 6 or 5.
