Air/water endoscopic cleaning adapters are used post-procedure, during the pre-cleaning stage of the endoscope cleaning process. The air/water cleaning adapter is critical to the bedside pre-cleaning process because it helps remove any debris from the air and water channels because these channels are not brushed during the manual cleaning process. The BioGuard air/water cleaning adapter is a valve that fits onto the air/water cylinder of Olympus endoscopes (that do not contain a balloon channel) and is intended to help clear the air/water channel post-procedure.
