Alcon - Freestanding Steel Chimneys
Alcon freestanding steel chimneys can be used in connection with all types of boilers, but are especially suitable where large temperature fluctuations can occur.
The steel chimneys comply with the Danish building regulations, and are CE marked in accordance with EUROCODE. The steel chimneys consist on the outside of a load-bearing steel plate pipe made of cortén special steel, which over time appears in a natural brown color. The chimney therefore does not require any surface maintenance. The inner part of the chimney consists of corten steel. In between the pipes, the steel chimneys are insulated with 2 layers of 30 mm mineral wool mats with wire cloth. With this construction, the smoke cooling is minimized, which optimizes the draft conditions of the steel chimney and reduces the risk of soot deposits.
The Alcon steel chimneys can be mounted both freestanding or with support for the wall. If the steel chimneys are to be set up free-standing, the supplied bolt bracket is cast into concrete.
For free-standing steel chimneys, a step is usually used from a height of 3 meters and a safety bar at the top of the chimney. In the standard version, the steel chimneys consist of a base with a bolt bracket, smoke inlet and cleaning flap. When ordering the steel chimneys, the dimension and location of the smoke introduction are stated. It is also stated how the cleaning flap and ladder steps should turn in relation to the smoke introduction.
