Alginic Acid
Properties: Alginic Acid is a natural polysaccharide extracted from seaweed. It is composed by mannuronic acid (M) and guluronic acid (G). Alginic Acid is a kind of white or yellow powder. which is odorless, tasteless and insoluble in water.
Usage:
Alginic Acid is mostly used in pharmaceutical industry as agent to prevent obesity and new medicine to treat stomach trouble. In the same time, Alginic Acid is an important raw material to produce propylene glycol alginate, polysaccharide sulphate etc.
1. Pharmaceutical industry
Alginc Acid is used as the main material for disintegrants and agent for the new medicine PSS, with the strong dispersing and emulsifying character.
2. Food industry
Alginic Acid can be combined with many ion, forming into a series of alginate product. It is widely used to manufacture health food or health food additives, such as sodium alginate, potassium alginate, calcium alginate, etc.
