Antifoamers for Clean Water
Except some cases (like in coal industry) foaming in general is undesirible. Some samples where foaming is problematic: Sugar industry, paper industry, paint industry, phosphorus acid production, waste water treatment plants (aerotanks). Normally clean water doesn't form stable air bubbles. When there is in water some dissolved or non-dissolved chemical substances air bubbles dispersions can be formed and foam starts formation under water.
Foam can be easily desintegrated or it can be very stable.
- In some industrial processes foam desintegrates so slowly that can stop manufacturing processes. In such cases antifoamers should be used.
- Antifoamers accelerates foam destruction and stops further foam formation.
