The product is used in small still and stagnant bodies of water in domestic settings. After application, the thin silicone film that forms on the water`s surface, resulting from the gradual release of polydimethylsiloxane, prevents larvae and pupae from properly absorbing the atmospheric oxygen necessary for their development into adults and prevents the proper development of immature mosquito stages (larvae and pupae). It works through physical-mechanical action and is effective for at least 2-3 months.
