Ariel - Model KBK / KBT -Mid Line Natural Gas Compressor
The KBK and KBT are manufactured to run continuously in the gas and oil fields; these compressors feature designs intended to increase the internal parts` strength. Because these compressors feature a wide range of cylinder options, they handle standard and specialized applications. The KBK/T includes an impressive array of innovative design features that enable total horsepower up to 5520 BHP. Strength is built into every component, and the result is a robust compressor to match even the most challenging applications.
High-Strength Bolting
Durable grade 8 bolting on all loaded joints, combined with specially designed fatigue-fighting bolts on all valve caps, ensure ultimate fastening strength throughout.

Rigid Connecting Rods
The KBK/KBT compressors feature durable connecting rods manufactured from forged steel with four bolts and a heavy-duty "I" section.

Rugged Crossheads
Ariel crossheads are one-piece, long-life, equipped with hardened, ground steel crosshead pins and direct, full-pressure lubrication at the top and bottom for minimum wear.
- Gray Iron Crankcase: Forged steel crankshaft, gray iron crosshead guide, bronze thrust bearing, tri-metal main bearing
- Ductile Iron Crosshead: Alloy steel crosshead pin

Ariel produces versatile cylinders that can be utilized over wide pressure ranges without compromise by using valves that effectively balance reliability and performance. For each compressor frame size, Ariel`s lineup of cylinders can fully utilize that frame`s horsepower and rod load capabilities. Cylinders can be combined in hundreds of different configurations to deliver the precise volume and pressure of gas required.
