MGA Technologies - Aseptic Tube Sealer for Clean Room Applications
The Aseptic Tube Sealer by MGA Technologies is engineered for clean room applications, specifically designed to safely disconnect pharmaceutical tubing while maintaining sterility. This device uses thermal sealing to disconnect two joined pieces of equipment connected by a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) hose, specifically C-Flex®. Its lightweight design and user-friendly handle make it ideal for precise disconnection close to the required cut area. An interchangeable tube holder system automatically adjusts to the optimal cycle to ensure secure sealing, effectively minimizing leakage risks and maintaining system integrity. The device's anodized aluminum body is resistant to cleaning agents, ensuring durability. It operates using a ceramic heater to surpass the tubing's melting point, followed by a cooling phase managed by a vane pump. The sealer is easily cleanable, cGMP compliant, and CE certified, making it robust and suitable for repeated use. This solution is environmentally conscious, offering recyclability and a decreased waste footprint compared to single-use solutions.
The device is used in clean rooms to disconnect thanks to a thermal seal two pieces of process equipment connected by a thermoplastic elastomer hose (TPE type C-Flex®). Consequently, disconnection is perfectly safe and sterile.
The lightweight and easy-to-use MGA technologies sealer handle enables the disconnection of TPE tubing to be carried out as close as possible to the required cutting area. The interchangeable tube holders system automatically adjust the optimum cycle needed to ensure the highest quality seal without the risk of leakage and loss of sterility. The disconnector is suitable for closed systems.
When disconnecting two single-use assemblies, the thermoplastic hose type C-Flex® to disconnect is clamped in a jaw which is locked by an electromagnet after closing. The disconnection cycle is initiated by the operator. A ceramic heater controls a temperature rise to slightly above the melting point of the tubing material.
A hold phase at this temperature secures the hose’s fusion and destroys all life on either side of the jaws. Then, a vane pump integrated within the device cools the fusion to a temperature that is harmless to the operator.
Finally, the electromagnet releases the opening of the jaws, the operator makes a final visual check of the good realization of this fusion of the flexible before cutting manually with a pair of scissors by following the print left in the sealing.
