Zepren - ATMOS Atmospheric Attenuation Monitoring
FromZepren Solutions
The ATMOS Atmospheric Attenuation Monitoring System, developed by Aragon Photonics and exclusively licensed to ZEPREN Solutions, is specifically designed for Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) tower plants. It autonomously measures atmospheric transmittance in real time, utilizing optical spectrum analysis. This technique helps distinguish the origin of attenuation by analyzing the spectrum of sunlight reflected by a target screen, which is further assessed by two telescopic optical devices. These devices measure the spectrum and compute the differential path attenuation across a wavelength range of 400-1630 nm. A key application of ATMOS is to monitor efficiency losses linked to atmospheric attenuation, facilitating site assessment for CSP plants. The system adheres to the ISO 9050 standard, ensures self-calibration, and includes a unique algorithm for classifying invalid measurements during abrupt atmospheric changes. Its hardware features automatic alignment to maintain consistency in measurements without external calibration. Most popular related searches

ATMOS is an atmospheric attenuation measurement system developed for CSP tower plants. It works autonomously, measuring the atmospheric transmittance value in real time.
ATMOS measurement is based on optical spectrum analysis, which allows to distinguish the origin of the attenuation. The system is based on a target screen that reflects sun radiation. Then, two telescopic optical devices measure the spectrum of the reflected radiation and calculate the attenuation of the differential path. The system wavelength range is 400-1630 nm.
ATMOS helps monitor efficiency losses due to atmospheric attenuation and allows to perform preliminary CSP plant location studies.
