There are many old style analog recording systems in existence that require an upgrade to the clearer image quality that new technology delivers, however today’s digital cameras require CAT-5 “computer” wiring. Digital megapixel cameras cannot use the existing analog coax cabling which is similar to what is used in cable TV connection.
This cable compatibility issue can drastically increase the cost to upgrade an analog camera system to digital technology as new wiring would be required.
Austin Security has a solution for these older analog systems. We have a compression technology that uses the existing cabling to deliver a high definition image. The end result is a huge difference in picture clarity and the ability to better identify people and property.
Additionally, not all analog cameras need to be replaced when upgrading to a high-definition system. Austin Security has recorders that can accommodate all three camera formats; analog, high definition, and digital. If you have an existing analog system and want to keep a few analog cameras, upgrade some analog camera locations to high definition devices, and add digital cameras to new locations, we can make this type of system architecture fit almost any budget as you can upgrade older cameras as your yearly budgets permit.
