Bakon - Venturi Scrubbers System
Venturi Scrubbers are used to control the particulate emissions. A Venturi Scrubber is an air pollution conrol equipment that uses the energy of a moving gas stream to capture the particulate matter in that gas flow. Venturi Scrubbers provide collection efficiencies of 70% - %95 for particles smaller than 10 microns.

Particle-laden air flow is forced through the narrow throat section of the venturi scrubber to move at a relatively higher velocity. In the meantime, water is introduced into this throat and the high velocity gas shears it into small droplets serving as targets for particle collection.
The water droplets incorporating pariculate matter are collected after leaving the throat and then diffuser of the venturi. The widely used equipment for this purpose is cyclonic seperators which permits good seperation of these droplets from the gas stream through centrifugal forces. The particle-free gas leaving these cyclonic seperators is released into the atmosphere.
