At the end of the 19th century, Ing. Ferdinand Brunnbauer worked as chief engineer for the well known Alex-Friedmann-Company. When he established his own enterprise, the Ferd. Brunnbauer Machine Factory in Vienna, in 1901, he had already developed and patented several kinds of ring-nozzles for his former employers. Until his death in 1929 his company produced ring-nozzles for injectors, ejectors and preheating devices for a worldwide market.

During the 1920s Ferdinand Brunnbauer`s son-in-law more and more took over the lead in the company`s organization. Ing. Alfred Walter (and later on his son Alfred Walter jun.) widened the enterprises production range by patenting and inventing UNIVERSAL-reduction valves, ABC Solenoid Valves (a great success especially on the German market - SIEMENS/Berlin), the relief and suction valve PULMO and more.

Unfortunately, after Walter jun. never came back from the front and the production-site was completely destroyed in 1945, World War II seemed to be the end of the Ferd. Brunnbauer Machine Factory. However Mrs. Thea Felsner, Ing. Walter`s widow, and the former bookkeeper Mrs. Aurelia Lingner started all over again and founded a new company on the old location.
From the 1960s on the company expanded quickly, so that in 1975 the Ferd. BRUNNBAUER KG management decided to concentrate on engineering along with marketing and sales. Production itself was cut to assembling, final production and special drilling, milling and turning operations.
1978 the UNIFLAM Energy & Power LTD was established, specializing in engineering of burners and incinerators for lime and cement plants as well as in plants for thermal waste utilization.
In the mid-80s BRUNNBAUER KG and UNIFLAM merged to the Ferd. BRUNNBAUER-UNIFLAM Ltd.

After the rapid changes in former communist countries, the early 90s saw another wave of expansion. In 1993 BRUNNBAUER-BUDAPEST Kft. was founded to cover the traditional Hungarian market. In Budapesta new production center was built and nowadays the Hungarian factory produces per year about 1500 pieces of high quality valves for various industries.

In 1995 BRUNNBAUER-MORAVIA s.r.o. was set up in Uhersky Brod, Czech Republic. The 100% subsidiary supplies the whole demand on the Czech market and attends to customers in neighboring Slovakia. In the same year, the production of the A.W.E. company was also taken over by the BRUNNBAUER-Group.
