MSI - Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS)
Maritime Solutions Inc.’s safe and environmentally sound shipboard ballast water treatment system (BWT System) (patented) addresses the global ballast water problem of the shipping industry that caused contamination of the world’s harbors and waterways by delivering aquatic nuisance species during ship ballast operations (taking on or discharging water to balance ships). The current ballast water transfer between geographic regions destroys local and regional coastal and waterway ecosystems and has an estimated multi-billon dollar negative economic impact and long term ecological cost.
Maritime Solutions, Inc. offers a total solution – handling large and small micron -size organisms and meeting IMO and other local regulations better than other systems on the market. The Company offers a Mechanical System that includes filtration and Ultra Violet (UV) treatments which is superior to Chemical based systems that require additional clean up and disposal issues.
More, the company’s Ballast Water Treatment System’s competitive advantages include special functionality for controls and data entry; monitoring capabilities of effluent water on an ongoing basis; as well as other proprietary performance advantages – all of which alternative mechanical systems do not offer, or offer only on a limited basis.
Centrifugal Separator
Maritime Solutions, Inc. will offer a second product – a centrifugal separation which is based on issued patents and proprietary trade secrets. This second product has tremendous potential in helping control the spread of Zebra and Quagga mussels. The technology is applicable to dams, fisheries, power plants, and other industrial operations for the prevention and treatment of mussel infestation.
The patented separator is also applicable in the dredging of harbors and rivers which is an on-going necessity in order to maintain marine commerce. A modified version of the mussel separator can be used to de-water dredged spoils allowing for more efficient and cost effective dredging operations.
