Jireh Industries - Model SKOOT -Base Crawler, Automated Inspection Scanner
The SKOOT - Base Crawler by Jireh Industries is an advanced automated scanner designed for detailed inspection tasks. The system is equipped with the capacity to perform comprehensive weld and corrosion scans, making use of its flexible capability to attach multiple accessories. The crawler is equipped with powerful rare-earth magnetic wheels that allow it to operate on vertical, horizontal, and even inverted surfaces. It facilitates circumferential scans on pipes with diameters as small as 6.4 cm OD and longitudinal scanning on pipes starting from 76.2 cm OD. The SKOOT is controlled remotely through a color handheld controller that allows for precise manipulation of speed and functionality. It is integrated with an encoder fully compatible with standard instruments, ensuring high accuracy in data collection. The device offers a versatile modular design, allowing users to configure various probe holder frames and raster arm lengths. Additionally, it is powered by rechargeable batteries, eliminating the need for heavy generators, and can operate continuously for extended periods. The SKOOT also comes with a range of support accessories such as power controllers, umbilical cables, and optional backpack for ease of operation.
The SKOOT - Base Crawler is a powerful automated scanner. LOW PROFILE DESIGN
The SKOOT requires a radial clearance of 11.4 cm (4.5 in), which allows for inspection in limited-access applications.
MAGNETIC WHEELS
The SKOOT can operate on vertical, horizontal and inverted surfaces using rare-earth magnets.
SCAN VERSATILITY
The SKOOT can facilitate circumferential scans on pipes as small as 6.4 cm (2.5 in) OD and 68.6 cm (27 in) ID. In addition, flat surface scans and longitudinal scanning on pipes as small as 76.2 cm (30 in) OD are available.
BACKPACK
The optional backpack conveniently carries ultrasonic accessories with the unit.
MODULAR DESIGN
Various probe holder frames and raster arm lengths are available with the SKOOT.
REMOTE OPERATION
Remote control of speed and functions is available through a colour handheld controller.
BUILT-IN ENCODER
An encoder is integrated into the body of the SKOOT. The encoder output is fully compatible with all standard instruments.
BATTERY POWER
Order the SKOOT with the battery kit and avoid using heavy, cumbersome generators. These rechargeable batteries can power the SKOOT system and accessories for hours at a time.
