Jeffrey Rader - Belt Pile Builder for Wood Chips

Jeffrey Rader introduced important features with the design of its belt pile builder:

Pile Belt Capacity
The pile belt builder is especially designed for constructing outside wood chip storage piles of up to 23,000 units at a 50-foot (15M) height, without the need of mobile equipment and at rates up to 900 tons per hour. The Jeffrey Rader pile belt builder has a 150-foot (45M) throw capacity thanks to an infeed chute design with low impact angle, low friction polyethylene material that maintains chip speed, and belt speeds up to 4,200 feet per minute (2,130 cm/sec).
 
Directional control while operating
The vertical discharge angle and lateral rotation can be changed remotely while the unit is in operation. No belt tension adjustments are required after changing the discharge angle. This means unattended pile building is possible. Precise directional control allows exact placement of chips and separation of species. Normal lateral rotation in either direction is 270 degrees and vertical discharge angle is adjustable to control distance of throw or to direct chips downward to keep fines from becoming airborne.
 
Low maintenance cost
Precision manufacture and balance of all components allow high belt speed without vibration. Easy access for maintenance is provided by an infeed chute with removeable sides and back panel, and an access door in the front panel for inspection or clearing of jammed oversize pieces. The whole unit is suspended on wheeled trolleys to allow it to be retracted to a service platform for easy access. This allows unscheduled maintenance to be performed without shutting down the system.
 
Rapid belt replacement
Pulp mills and other chip handling installations require dependable and easliy maintained equipment. The Belt Pile Builder is designed to meet these requirements. It features a simplified belt replacement design. The belt frame, fabricated from tubular sections for rigidity and less weight, is cantilevered and permits replacement from one side. One person, using the recommended hydraulic platform, can replace the belt in less than one hour.
