BinMaster - Model VRX51 -Vibrating Probe Level Sensor with Flexible Cable Extension
The VRX51 vibrating probe level sensor with flexible cable extension now includes a bright, built-in LED status indicator for monitoring bulk inventory levels and plugged chutes. The light can easily be seen from afar, appearing as red or green, and changing color based on if material is or is not covering the probe and damping its vibration.
VRX51 is mounted in ordinary conditions, at the top of a bin, tank, silo, or vessel with 1 1/2" NPT threads. Its steel-rope reinforced cable can be extended from 19” to 19.5’ (48.26 cm to 5.94 m) into the vessel, ending in an attached sword-shaped vibrating probe.
This rugged, flexible cable resists damage, making the VRX51 a preferred choice in environments where material may fall onto or heavily impact the probe. Like other VRX models, the VRX51 outperforms other point level sensors in measuring lightweight, low-dielectric solids like powders, flakes, and granules as light as 1.9 lb./ft.³ (30 g/liter).
The sensor utilizes a 24 VDC or 115/230 VAC power supply and operates in temperatures up to 140°F (60°C).
By providing reliable level and plugged chute alerts, users can prevent overfilling their vessel and ensure materials are flowing as intended, reducing the risk of operational downtime due to blockages or obstructions.
BinMaster’s VRX51 features DPDT relay contacts, allowing the user to preset two switching options—such as to “covered” and “uncovered”—plus configurable time delay settings and selectable fail-safe protection.
The VRX51’s die-cast aluminum power pac—rated NEMA Type 4X—features 3/4" NPT conduit entries, a screw-off cover, and USDA-approved powder coat finish. Its durable design and self-cleaning capabilities offer a long, dependable service life.

Extended vibrating rods are ideal when you want to leave a certain amount of headspace in the silo. Wire them to an alert—such as a light, horn, or alarm panel—or a PLC to shut a process off or turn it back on.
The VRX41 and VRX51 both feature a unique sword-shaped vibrating probe that resists buildup and prevents false alarms. No calibration required. Wear and maintenance free!
