BioRAS - Model GS108P -4 Port Poe Gige Switch

Netgear Prosafe GS108P, 8-port GigE switch (Gigabit ethernet switch) with 4-port PoE (Power over Ethernet), including ethernet cables. A switch connects a number of cameras (or other devices) with a central computer in a wired network through Ethernet cables.

The Netgear Prosafe GS108P switch connects of up to 4 cameras, and the Ethernet connections ensure rapid data transfer. The advantage of ethernet over USB apart from the networking capability is the ability to use cables of up to 100m in length.

Power over ethernet

PoE (Power over Ethernet) lets ethernet cables supply the power for cameras, while at the same time transmitting data.
