Blue Phoenix - Aggregates

The extraction of primary aggregates for construction and transport to construction sites places enormous pressure on the environment. Mineral mining accounts for 2.8% of the global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and 52% of the 100 billion tons of materials that enter the global economy each year (The Circularity Gap Report, 2021). The great majority of the incinerator bottom ash (IBA) consists of minerals including inert brick, rubble, glass, ceramics, and stone that can be repurposed into manufactured aggregates for construction material. It is our mission to reduce the dependency on mining and the depletion of the earth`s resources while contributing to decreasing the carbon footprint of the civil construction industry.
