RSModel ABVL Series -Breakaway Couplings

SHARE

The flow-optimized design of the ABVL breakaway couplings leads to shorter loading times without additional energy consumption. Conversely, considerable pumping capacity (pressure loss) can be saved with the same loading capacity. In addition, the design ensures a particularly low tendency for cavitation in the clutch.

The breakaway coupling series with high flow rate
and force-limited release via breaking pinsHigh-performance solution for short loading times and / or low pressure losses

The ABVL series was specially developed for loading processes in which the highest possible flow rate and low pressure loss are just as important as the safety of an breakaway coupling.

Breakaway couplings of the ABVL series are functionally identical to those of the ABV series, but have a significantly higher flow rate due to their flow-optimized design:

The breakaway couplings of the ABVL series disconnect the cable at a defined tensile load. This is to be selected so that it lies with a sufficient safety margin below the load limit of the line, for example the maximum tensile load of a hose line. Both coupling halves are each equipped with a non-return valve in order to be able to immediately close the line in a media-tight manner in the event of a separation and to prevent the medium from escaping into the environment.

The basic principle:

With the usual reliable triggering as with the ABV series, the pressure loss within the coupling is reduced to a minimum in this series. This saves energy and time in the loading process.

If their tensile strength is exceeded, the bolts break and the flange connection is loosened. In this case, the separate coupling halves must be immediately and securely closed, for which purpose both housing halves are each equipped with spring-loaded check valves. These support each other in the operating state and keep the cable cross-section open. In the case of separation, the mutual support effect of the valves is no longer given, so that they suddenly close the respective cross-section that is becoming free.
