Builtrite™ (formerly Northshore Manufacturing) was established in 1989 by our founder, John Anderson and is located in Two Harbors, Minnesota, U.S.A. Tenamec, our parent company, owns several other brands which cater to the construction, scrap recycling, demolition, automotive recycling, railroad maintenance and other industries.

We take pride in our in-house designs and the fact that the lion’s share of our manufacturing is done here at our factory in Two Harbors, MN. Most of our employees live in the Two Harbors and Duluth areas, providing a real, positive impact to our local economy.

In 2009, we expanded our plant, which increased our square footage to approximately 55,000 square feet. In this expansion, we added a state of the art paint booth, grapple fabrication facility, new assembly area including a hydraulic test stand, used to test all of our equipment and finally, more room to weld and machine our products. In April 2015, the company was sold to TJM Capital out of Chicago, IL, which specializes in industrial manufacturing firms.

In 2017, SAS Forks (www.sasforks.com) out of Luxemburg, WI was acquired and brought into the Tenamec portfolio. Since then, we have added another brand, DRKHorse (www.drkhorsetools.com) to our line-up, which consists of demolition and scrap processing attachments.

In 2018, Tenamec acquired Lemco, a company that began as a supplier of truck-mounted loaders for the forestry industry and later took their designs to the municipality and construction markets as well. Lemco is now a part of Builtrite™ Handlers and Attachments and we continue to manufacture and distribute the Lemco products.
