Canadyne RiverBoom - Versatile, General-Purpose Boom
Canadyne RiverBoom is a versatile, general-purpose boom designed for use in many different spill response applications. The boom freeboard is maintained with cylindrical foam floats. These floats offer a high degree of wave conformance and reserve buoyancy in choppy or rough conditions. An added top tension member offers additional tensile strength and renders the boom more stable in fast currents. A heavy ballast chain is used to ensure the boom skirt does not lift in fast currents.

The RiverBoom is a high tensile, shallow draft boom ideally suited for spill response operations in flowing waters. Use in deflection mode in high currents to bring oil to shore for skimming/removal. Above photo shows boom deployed in a 5 knot (8.5 km/h) current.
- Available in a wide range of heavy-duty PVC coated fabrics
- PVC coated galvanized steel aircraft cable top tension member.
- Cylindrical foam floatation (rolled polyethylene) for maximum memory characteristics. Will retain shape, will not crush or break into pieces.
- Floats are secured internally which eliminates pinch points or external seals and ensures a smooth external profile for superior oil containment
- Economy model available with polystyrene floatation.
