Lined Main Tap - CIPP or Folded Plastic Liners
The LMT (Lined Main Tap) Saddle is an engineered saddle designed to connect a lateral pipe to a mainline liner. The LMT saddle is sized to surround the pipe beyond it’s spring line, which creates a clamping effect that draws the saddle firmly on to the new main pipe-liner. LMK’s proprietary adhesive/sealant bonds the LMT saddle to the new main pipe-liner, providing a flexible non-leaking main/ lateral connection. The LMT Saddle is compatible with a variety of lining materials including polyethylene pipe commonly used in Fold & Form liners and pipe bursting, cured in place liners, and PVC folded liners.
How to effectively connect and seal a lateral sewer pipe to a main sewer, which has been lined with CIPP or folded plastic liners. TheLMT (Lined Main Tap) makes connecting directly to the mainline lining as easy as a SNAP.
The lateral pipe is cut, and the old main pipe is broken away exposing the mainline liner. By connecting directly to the main liner, a hermetic seal is made to the lateral pipe.
The lateral opening in the main liner is prepared by removing any high spots making a suitable surface for the attachment of theLMT saddle.
Next, the underwater curing 2-part hybrid adhesive is applied to the saddle by use of a twin cartridge caulking gun. This proprietary adhesive bonds the LMT saddle to the new main liner and provides a flexible seal.
The LMT Saddle is snapped onto the Lined Main Pipe providing a new Lateral Tap. The saddle covers more than 180-degrees of the main liner forming a structural new connection.
The lateral pipe is connected to the new pipe extending from theLMT usingNon-Shear Couplings. The end result is a structural new Lateral Tap that does not protrude into the main pipe, is compatible with all pipe types and connects the lateral pipe directly to the main liner ensuring a long-term effective Main/Lateral Seal.
Surgical Grade Stainless Steel Coupling
These couplings were designed specifically to fit the outer diameter of cured in-place pipe as well as new direct bury pipe. The stainless steel sleeve eliminates possible shifting that commonly results in offset joints. Please refer to LMK’s CIPP Couplings section for further information.
Fits Multiple Lining Materials
The LMT Saddle can be applied to a variety of lining materials including polyethylene pipe commonly used in Fold & Form liners and pipe bursting, cured in place liners, and PVC folded liners.
Structural Connection
The LMT (Lined Main Tap) Saddle has a custom snap fit covering more than 50% of the new main pipe-liner. The LMT saddle is sized to surround the pipe beyond it’s spring line, creating a clamping effect that draws the saddle firmly to the new main pipe-liner.
Underwater Curing Flexible Adhesive / Sealant
LMK’s proprietary adhesive bonds the LMT saddle to the new main pipe-liner, providing a flexible non-leaking new main/lateral connection.
