SagiCofim - Model MCA-MCPA Series -Circular Silencers
The MCA-MCPA range of silencers are used in aeraulic systems to reduce the noise generated by fans and carried along by the airflow. These silencers are supplied with a length of casing in one diameter (MC_1D) or two diameters (MC_2D) and the diameters available range from 300 – 1800mm. The MCPA range has a rounded nose-cone (flat head MCTA variant also available).
The standard construction is in galvanized sheet steel which encloses mineral fiber panels covered with reinforced, non-combustible glass fiber with A1 fire reaction class; the internal part of the silencer is made of micro-expanded perforated sheet metal. There are threaded inserts on the flanges for fastening to the flanges of the ducts or fans.
On request, special executions in aluminum and stainless steel and with a protective polyester membrane (FOREX-MELINEX), specifically used in the pharmaceutical, food and hospital sectors.
The silencer models with nose cone have a more accentuated noise attenuation capacity compared to models without cone. Standard construction is galvanized sheet steel; the sound-absorbing material is made of special mineral fiber protected by perforated sheet metal. There are threaded inserts on the heads for fixing to the duct flanges.

APPLICATION
The MCA – MCPA silencers are applied on the circular ducts of civil and industrial air conditioning and ventilation systems; another specific application involves its installation on the axial fans of condensing air conditioning units.
The MCTA type with flat head nose cone is used for evaporative towers.
FIXING
The most common installation is on ventilation ducts, with horizontal or vertical flow.
The position of the silencer must be appropriately studied so that there is no noise entering the channel downstream of the silencer itself.
The fixing is carried out using the threaded inserts present on the two heads, in line with the flanges of the ducts.
- The assembly operations are carried out simply by aligning the threaded inserts on the two heads with the flanges of the ducts.
- Fireproof mineral fiber panels, protected by reinforced glass veil; all classified Euroclass A1 according to UNI EN 13501-1
- Special types for different applications such as: AIR TIGHT (tight), HOSP (controlled contamination environments)
- Special sizes and configurations, customized creations.
