Cobett - Model SB -Floatless Valve System
The Model SB with Floatless Valve System by Cobett is designed for reliable single animal access and exceptional winter resilience. Utilizing ground heat, it maintains a constant water temperature, preventing the valve and plumbing from freezing. This system eliminates the need for float-based mechanisms by employing a diaphragm-sensed valve that adjusts water levels in response to atmospheric and water pressure variations. With dimensions of 23.5 inches in diameter and 48 inches in height, it is suitable for approximately 65 dry lot beef cattle or 35 range cows. The system includes a 1/4-inch floatless valve that operates efficiently at an average pressure of 40 PSI, delivering 2.25 GPM, and can handle up to 80 PSI for peak conditions at 3.25 GPM. Constructed from durable polyethylene plastic, the waterer is easy to clean and maintain by simply lifting out the tub and draining it. Additional features include a valve guard, flexible hose, and strainer, making it ideal for environments with clean water supply. Optional accessories such as non-insulated base tube extensions and ice chippers are available to enhance functionality.
The Model SB with Floatless Valve System features unmatched winter endurance for single animal access. The entire tub of water is constantly and directly warmed by the wide column of ground heat that prevents freezing of the valve and plumbing, even with zero traffic. Cleaning is easy — lift out the tub, swirl the water and empty it out. The more complex and sensitive floatless valve (not made by Cobett) requires a strainer, even for city water. A diaphragm that senses the water weight activates this valve. The floatless valve water level may vary 1″ to 2″ from day to day due to changes in the atmospheric and/or water pressure. The floatless valve comes with a tool to set the water level.
