Boffetti - Model HICOS CVS -Combined Current and Voltage Sensors
HICOS CVS sensors are innovative devices designed for efficient integration into switchgear systems. They provide the connection between line terminals and switchgear in a unified block for each phase. The sensors use an air-wound coil known as a Rogowski coil for current measurement and a capacitive circuit with a voltage divider for voltage measurement. These sensors are especially relevant in gas-insulated switchgear for secondary distribution, as well as in electrical distribution and medium/low-voltage transformer substations. They are ideal for utilities and energy production plants, including both conventional and renewable sources, as well as in light industry, transport, and tertiary sectors. The sensors have been tested at CESI in accordance with IEC standards and are noted for being manufactured without a ferromagnetic circuit. The technology is patent pending, indicating ongoing innovation and refinement in their design and application.
The HICOS CVS current and voltage sensors make the passthrough connection between the line connection terminals and the switchgear equipment in a single monobloc (one per phase). In the insulating block they incorporate the circuits of the primary and secondary current and voltage measurement signals. They are manifactured without a ferromagnetic circuit: the current sensor is made through the use of an air-wound coil (Rogowski coil); the voltage sensor is made by a capacitive circuit with voltage divider.
HICOS CVS sensors are normally used in HICOS GIS secondary distribution gas insulated switchgear, for the construction of electrical distribution and MV / LV transformer substations. They are suitable for use in utilities, conventional and renewable energy production plants, light industry, transport, and the tertiary sector.
