Combined Weighing Systems with Barcode Readers
The company GS Software manufactures weighing systems which use the barcode readers. The system consists of two self-service terminals. The first terminal has an industrial barcode printer; having entered the weighbridge, a driver collects a code from the terminal. The second terminal has an in-built barcode reader which identifies the code collected by the driver; thus the weighing operation can be completed.

WEIGHING OPERATION SCHEDULE:
- A vehicle enters the weighbridge.
- Sitting in the vehicle, a driver pushes a button. The terminal prints out a ticket with a barcode, which the driver collects.
- The vehicle leaves the weighbridge. Then the driver drives to the place where the vehicle is to be loaded or unloaded.
- The vehicles re-enters the weighbridge.
- The driver approaches the barcode to the second terminal. The code is to be read out and the weighing operation is to be
recorded in the database. - The vehicle leaves the weighbridge and the plant.
The delivered weighing system with the barcode handling module consists of two weighing terminals. The basic advantages of the terminals are presented below.
Terminal 1:
The first terminal is used to initiate the printing-out of a weighing ticket with a printed barcode, which is then taken by the driver. The terminal is equipped with an industrial printer of weighing tickets, protected with a cover, and a button to generate the printing-out process.

The second terminal is used to read the barcode which was collected by the driver at the first terminal. The terminal is equipped with a barcode reader and a lamp that signals the performance of the weighing operation. Moreover, both terminals have sets of electronic elements necessary for their correct operation.
