Why buy a Biocell Commercial Concrete+ Sewage System?

Business owners can benefit from purchasing one of our commercial concrete systems for a variety of reasons. It operates quietly and efficiently producing high effluent quality on low running costs. The Concrete+ comes with a 40 year structural warranty, the longest tank warranty on the market and is the strongest commercial concrete sewage system available. The desludging intervals are extra long (up to 5 years) and it’s odour free. It will never interfere with the smooth running of your business. Should you need us for anything, we offer a nationwide customer support service and have dedicated service teams on hand for optional value for money maintenance packages to ensure the optimum performance and longevity of the system.

  • Longest tank warranty on the market
  • Longest desludging intervals
  • Unrivaled experience
  • Low running costs
  • No odour
  • Whisper quiet operation
  • Independently tested and approved
  • Nationwide customer support and service teams

For builders, installers and industry professionals, there is the added bonus of a trade discount. Also, we deliver and place the tank inside the excavation with a truck mounted crane, making the job as easy as possible for you. This concrete tank is the least difficult to install where there is a high water table. Quick and easy installation is key in our systems design. For that reason, we have kept things simple and built all components inside so it is plug and play.

Commercial Wastewater Treatment Technologies

There are a variety of treatment processes available, and the choice of process depends on the nature of the commercial premises such as the characteristics of the wastewater and the frequency and volume of loadings.

SBR [Sequential Batch Reactor]

The Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) is an activated sludge process designed to operate under non-steady state conditions. An SBR operates in a true batch mode with aeration and sludge settlement both occurring in the same chamber. The major differences between SBR and conventional continuous-flow activated sludge system is that the SBR tank carries out the functions of equalisation, aeration and settlement in a time sequence rather than in the conventional sequence of continuous-flow systems. In addition, the SBR system design has the ability to treat a wide range of commercial wastewater volumes, whereas the continuous system is based upon a fixed flow rate.

If there is no sewage entering the treatment plant the SBR process will detect this and enter ‘eco mode’. So for periods of non-use, the system does not keep constantly aerating and treating the sewage. The controlled nature of the SBR makes it ideal for a commercial application with variable flows and where there are periods of non-use. Typical examples where an SBR is the best choice include the following: schools wastewater treatment, creche wastewater treatment, caravan park wastewater treatment. Advantages of the SBR process are as follows;

  • High degree of operational flexibility
  • No separate clarifiers
  • Low capital cost
  • Low power consumption
  • Very high effluent quality due to the controlled process

MBBR [Moving Bed Biological Reactor]

The MBBR is a recently developed form of sewage treatment. MBBR processes improve reliability, offer simple operation, and require less volume than traditional commercial wastewater treatment systems. MBBR technology employs thousands of balls of plastic media operating in mixed motion within an aeration chamber. Each individual biocarrier increases productivity by providing a very high surface area for the growth of heterotrophic and autotrophic bacteria. It is this high-density population of bacteria that achieves high-rate biodegradation within the system, while also offering process reliability and ease of operation. This technology provides cost-effective treatment with minimal maintenance since MBBR processes self-maintain an optimum level of productive biofilm. Additionally, the biofilm attached to the mobile biocarriers within the system automatically responds to load fluctuations. The MBBR has the following main benefits;

  • Compact design
  • Simple to expand by just adding more media to a tank
  • Single pass process with no need for transfer pumps or siphons
  • Low maintenance
  • Can deal with highly variable loads

Additional Treatment Technologies

If effluent quality is a concern, we can design a concrete commercial system to achieve any effluent quality through the use of additional technologies such as;

  • UV disinfection
  • Chemical dosing for P reduction
  • Denitrification
  • GSM dial out alarms
  • Extra large sludge storage chambers
