PWL - Compact Systems
PWL compact systems are optimally tailored to the individual needs of process and operational management. The modular system combines different PWL fine screens or PWL drum screens with different grit trap geometries and grit trap processes. The sand traps can be ventilated or non-ventilated. The constructive concept of the PWL grit traps creates a roller flow in the grit trap cross-section and thus significantly improved grit separation.
The complete construction of our PWL compact systems consists of stainless steel 1.4301 or 1.4571 and is pickled, welded and passivated under protective gas. We use a special steel for the spirals. As is customary in the industry, the drive motors are painted twice.
We provide you with the following variants as raking and screening systems:
- PWL helix screens / spiral screens
- PWL ProCat rake screen
- PWL drum screens TanFlow TFS and Centerflow CFS
As multifunctional systems, the PWL compact systems MODULAR combine the screening of waste water with sand trap and grease separation in one compact system. It thus combines all the essential components of the mechanical stage of wastewater treatment. With a modular structure, this system can be equipped according to the individual waste water conditions. In addition to screen screens of all kinds, the MODULAR is also used with drum screens in the feed. The different solid fractions are discharged separately from the plant and thrown into containers or fed to further treatment steps.
Modular design of the compact system as a plusIn their modular design we see a downright groundbreaking development in the field of compact systems. Among other things, we have achieved a cost-effective combination with the PWL sand washer and our efficient screenings washer, interval washing compressor. By using our integrated interval washing compressor, the weight of the pipe screenings is reduced by at least three quarters (75%). The use of our PWL grit washer washes out the organic content contained in the grit trap and reduces the loss on ignition of the washed sand to less than 3%.
The sand trap clearing of the PWL compact systems is realized with low wear by a horizontal solid conveyor spiral. The conveyed sediment is fed to a robust sand classification spiral or alternatively to a sand conveying pump. Both the discharge spiral and the sand conveying pump can convey the sediment into a PWL sand washer, for example.
In addition, the sand traps can be equipped with an integrated, automatically cleared grease trap. The innovative PWL grease trap clearing completely dispenses with moving fixtures in the grease trap. Maintenance costs are thus significantly reduced. An integrated grease pump transports the separated floating matter to a separate container, grease trap or back to the screenings discharge.
The screenings removed by the PWL ProCat rake screen are discharged into the proven interval washing compressor for screenings washing. Intensive washing is carried out here and then compacted so that the screenings can be discharged into a container after they have been drained. It is of course also possible that - for example in the case of underground systems - containers set up at ground level are loaded. The washing water supply can be represented by process water or alternatively by a cutting wheel pump built into the sand trap of the compact system. Washing with waste water – a really sustainable method!
In the following overview, we have clearly summarized what we consider to be the most important advantages that our compact system MODULAR brings with it:
- Fine screens such as the PWL ProCat rake circulation screen or the PWL helix screen are always supplied with a swing-out screen field, even in compact systems.
- Planning and installation are significantly accelerated and assembly and construction costs are reduced.
- lowest energy consumption in mechanical wastewater treatment
- Grease trap without moving, maintenance-intensive built-in components
- Excellent accessibility of the entire sand trap thanks to removable covers that can be closed with cams
- Fully or partially accessible with railings
- Completely hygienically encapsulated with optional active exhaust air extraction
- optionally fully wired pre-assembled
- Available in different stainless steel qualities and also duplex steel
- Integration of the computer system or available in separate construction
In addition, our system has a sand trap design in accordance with the DWA recommendation. It is also thanks to the steep discharge that the space requirement is reduced to a minimum. PWL compact systems can also be used to accept faecal sludge. An additional tank rinsing in the feed tank ensures that it is cleaned after it has been filled.
