Compressor Intake Filter (CIF)
Air compressors play an important role in an industrial environment, providing the compressed air to the pneumatic controls, valves, process applications, and various instruments throughout the plant. Corrosive gaseous contaminants in the intake airstream of your compressor can inhibit air flow, impede heat dissipation, and cause vibration. The end result: decreased efficiency. To protect your compressor from corrosion, we offer our Compressor Intake Filter, a dry-chemical scrubber designed to remove corrosive gases from intake air. The CIF is a multi-stage, highly efficient air purification system that removes gases and particulates.
Section 1: The first section of the CIF is a MERV 6 prefilter designed to remove particulates measuring 10 microns in diameter or greater. The purpose of this filter is to protect the following stage of Purafil chemical media from becoming coated with dust, which would reduce its efficiency.
Section 2: Following the prefilter is a stage of the dry-chemical media. The media within the CIF reacts with and neutralizes corrosive contaminants in the intake air. Twin Filter offers a variety of patented media depending on the types of corrosive gases present in your compressor`s intake air. Multiple stages of media may be required to eliminate all gases of concern.
Section 3: The last CIF section is the final particulate filter. This filter is a high efficiency filter, which removes particulates equal to or greater than 1 to 2 microns.
